About CC/NHCF
Career Council Inc. was founded in 1991 with the goal of helping under-represented high school students in their college selection process. National Hispanic College Fairs Inc.® was founded in 1998 to assist the fastest-growing minority group in America, the Hispanic/Latino, in obtaining access to college education. Today, CC/NHCF serves 125,000 students and 1,800 colleges/universities in over 50 locations across the United States every year.
Our college fairs bring representatives from a broad range of colleges/universities and vocational training institutions to high school juniors and seniors, providing them a unique opportunity to become aware of their many options and to compare the offerings of participating institutions. We strive to provide students with current available scholarship and grant information. We have partnered with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund to help us achieve our goals of helping minority students gain the widest access to the resources available to them.
CCNHCF is certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors as an approved provider of Continuing Education Activities offering Live Programs to Nationally Certified Counselors. Counselors attending our fairs are eligible for CEU credits.
How Our College Fairs Work:
- CC/NHCF guarantees an audience by providing Free Buses to high schools attending our fairs.
- Students are accompanied to the fair by Chaperones from their High School Guidance Office.
- Upon arrival at the fair, students are greeted by a member of the CC/NHCF staff.
- CC/NHCF provides full on-site supervision by our professional security staff .
- A Hot Buffet Breakfast is provided to all of the College Representatives and School Chaperones.
- Each student is provided a bag to collect information.
- Students also receive a prepared list of questions, in both English and Spanish, to help them solicit the information needed for them to make informed decisions.
- Students at the fair stop at each table to fill out information cards and ask questions of the college representative.
- We allocate approximately one hour at the college fair for each participating high school so that students do not miss a full day of school.
- The fairs take place between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. during a school day.
CCI/ NHCF works closely with the Hispanic Community and educational institutions to maintain the high quality of our fairs and to provide outstanding service to the Hispanic/Latino community.
