HOW A CAREER COUNCIL COLLEGE FAIR WORKS
- CC/NHCF guarantees an audience by providing Free Buses to high schools and high school districts involved in our fairs.
- Students are accompanied to the fair by Chaperones from their High School Guidance Office.
- Upon arrival at the fair, students are greeted by a member of the CC/NHCF staff.
- CC/NHCF provides full on-site supervision by our professional security staff of active and retired members of the NYPD and FDNY.
- A Hot Buffet Breakfast is provided to all of the College Representatives from the various colleges and universities as well as to School Chaperones.
- As students enter the fair, they are each given a plastic tote bag that is used to collect information as they walk around the college fair.
- Students also receive a prepared list of questions, in both English and Spanish, to help them solicit the information needed for them to make informed decisions.
- Students at the fair stop at each table to fill out information cards and ask questions of the college representative.
- We allocate approximately one hour at the college fair for each participating high school so that students do not miss a full day of school.
- The fairs take place between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. during a school day.
